The artist is famous for his passionate and vibrant paintings, full of mood and drama. He did a quick reproduction of one of his en plein air compositions of Paris, it was hard to believe the work he could put together in less than two hours! With only a quick free-hand sketch and a limited palette of 12 colors, we all watched as the streets of Paris came alive on the half-sheet of watercolor paper. I learned a lot, I wish I had been able to go to the Monday demonstration as well. Thanks for the great demo Alvaro!
A few months ago I found out one my favorite contemporary watercolor artists, Alvaro Castagnet, was going to do a demonstration at Daniel Smith in Seattle, so of course I had to go! Saturday was the day of the demo and I was even more impressed than I knew I would be. The artist is famous for his passionate and vibrant paintings, full of mood and drama.
